Gira L1 logic module

The logic module Gira L1 with a new design

Switching lights on in a time-delayed sequence, calling up specific light scenes directly using a pushbutton sensor, controlling the room temperature or creating other logical functions: With the logic module Gira L1, industrial buildings and properties of similar sizes featuring a KNX system can be easily equipped with a series of automated convenience functions. The intuitive Gira Project Assistant enables projects to be parametrised conveniently in just a few steps and easily modified at any time using drag & drop. A convenient logic editor guides the programmer to the desired result. Thanks to the simulation, configuration errors can be virtually ruled out, while the duration of start-up is shortened significantly. Each action performed in the Gira Project Assistant is automatically saved. All changes can be viewed and undone with the undo/redo function. Any desired status of the project can be restored just like if you had a time machine. The Gira logic module is mounted on a top-hat rail in the sub-distribution.

New functions

  • Component partition wall control changed from 1-bit input to variable (enables the dimming function, among other things)
  • Persistent storage of data points
  • Internal communication between multiple devices, e.g. to exchange values between Gira L1 and Gira X1 via Ethernet
    .

General improvements

  • The “Read at device start” parameter has been added to the “Input” logic node to handle the read operation for a
data point separately in the logic.
  • KNX data point types have been translated into German.

Reach goals quickly: clear structure of the Gira Project Assistant

The Gira Project Assistant features a clean design, enables intuitive operation using drag & drop, and guides users through successful parametrisation in four steps, both online and offline.

Range of functions thanks to the node library

A library with 35 powerful logic nodes is available in the logic editor. This library contains parameters and initialisation values/constants that can be used to customise the automation logic. To this end, an input, a logic node and an output are simply combined at the click of a mouse.

Overview of the logic nodes

Simple parametrisation of scenes and timers

Actions can also be linked to times through the use of a timer.

Convenient logic sheet management

Logic sheets can be moved between projects, renamed if necessary, and assigned keywords.

Track changes, undo if necessary

All changes can be viewed and undone with the undo/redo function. Any desired status of the project can be restored just like if you had a time machine.

Automatic save

Each action performed in the Gira Project Assistant is automatically saved. ensuring that no data is lost and doing away with unnecessary extra work.

Finding instead of searching

Filters help you to reach your goals quickly. Logic sheets can be found using their category keywords and designations. Completely customised organisation is possible using your own personal keywords.

Simulate logics

Logical functions can be thoroughly tested here in a simulation prior to start-up – this saves valuable time during the actual start-up. Values can be set and changed as desired, allowing functions to be tested for the desired behaviour.

Improved overview with multi-screen operation

With the Gira Project Assistant, several project windows can be opened simultaneously. In order to provide an improved overview, it is possible to work on a project on two screens simultaneously.

Find logic module Gira L1 automatically in the network

The Gira Project Assistant automatically displays all devices available online. There is no need to search for them by their IP address.

Logic nodes

A library with many powerful logic nodes is available in the logic editor of the Gira Project Assistant. This library contains parameters and initialisation values/constants, which can be utilised to customise the automation logic. To this end, an input, a logic node and an output are simply combined at the click of a mouse.

Multiplexer

Relays incoming telegrams at the input to a single selected output.

Shading

Checks if the position of the sun is within shading parameters to trigger shading.

Elapsed operating time meter

Determines the time during which the value of the input was not equal to 0.

Date and time

Converts the data type DateTime into its individual date and time parts.

Switch on/off delay

Delays 0 and 1 telegrams with a separately configurable delay.

Filter

Filters incoming telegrams based on conditions.

Edge detector

Detects rising and falling edges on the input.

Basic arithmetic

Applies one of the selectable basic arithmetic operations over the inputs.

Inverter

Inverts the signal arriving at the input.

Blind tracking

Aligns the slats of a blind to the position of the sun.

OR gate

An OR-gate with a variable number of inputs.

Oscillator

Generates periodic square wave signals. With a rising edge, a 1 is sent on the output as standard; with a falling edge, a 0 is sent as standard.

PI controller

Calculates the setpoint of a PI controller from the difference between the actual and target value of the control variable.

PID controller

Calculates the setpoint of a PID controller based on the difference between the actual and target value of the control variable.

Heating/cooling controller

Based on a PI controller for both heating and cooling control.

Roller shutter tracking

Lowers roller shutters for shading based on the position of the sun.

Threshold with hysteresis

Filters numerical input telegrams via switching hysteresis comprised of two different threshold values.

Send-by-change

Forwards the value at the input to the output if it is different from the previous value.

Position of the sun

Calculates the position of the sun.

Lock-out

Blocks incoming telegrams based on a condition.

Fault message

If a fault occurs, it sends 0 and 1 on the “Optical signal” output in an alternating fashion.

Telegram generator

This module generates periodic telegrams. A 1 is sent on the output. The cycle time is adjustable.

Telegram delay

Delays telegrams for a configurable period of time.

Room divider controller

Combines all switching objects within an area connected by an open partition wall in a single controller.

Staircase light

After a defined period of time, first outputs a warning, then turns off the lights.

Type converter

Outputs the input signal, discarding the signal type.

AND gate

An AND gate with a variable number of inputs.

Distinguish short/long button press

The node evaluates an input value depending on a user-definable time period.

Comparator

Compares two numbers with a selectable operator.

Watchdog

Sends a telegram if no telegrams have arrived from the input after a defined timespan elapses.

Value generator

Sends a specified telegram value, if triggered.

XOR gate

An Exclusive-OR gate with a variable number of inputs.

Counter

Counts telegrams with a value of 1. The meter reading is saved continuously.

Random generator

Sends a random integer from a specified range of values, if triggered.
