Gira Control 19 Client

Controlling intelligent building technology with a single finger

Gira Control 19 Client,
glass black/aluminium

The Gira Control 19 Client is a touch screen PC for control of the KNX installation via the Gira HomeServer or FacilityServer. It features a brilliant display with a screen diagonal of 47 cm [18.5"], which clearly displays all building technology functions via the Gira Interface. In connection with the Gira HomeServer or FacilityServer, the large display can be used to control lighting, blinds, heating, ventilation, household appliances, and multiroom audio systems, and complex living scenes can be compiled of several functions. Occupants always have the status of individual functions in view at the same time, they can call up graphs and evaluations, and much more. Moreover, the Gira Control 19 Client can also be integrated in the Gira door communication system so that it can be used as a home station for audio-visual door communication.

Thanks to the Gira Interface, the user interface of the Gira HomeServer, the Gira Control 19 Client provides exceptionally user-friendly control. The menu guidance is intuitive, and all functions can be reached within just two levels. Additional information or operating elements are displayed directly in a pop-up window. This makes cumbersome clicking through countless menu items a thing of the past. The Gira Control 19 Client is distinguished by its high-quality appearance made of real materials such as aluminium and glass. The clear lines of the control unit harmonise with any home furnishings. The Gira Control 19 Client is available in four models: with glass frames in white, mint, umber, or black.

Convenient operation of the entire building technology

The Gira Control 19 Client enables the visualisation and operation of all functions in the building system technology. Its brilliant display with a screen diagonal of 47 cm [18.5"] is clearly legible from all directions so that both adults and children can see the display equally well and operate the functions accordingly. The capacitive touch screen ensures simple operation with a pleasant feel. Various information such as receipt of new e-mails, adverse weather warnings and many others can be displayed by a multicoloured parameterisable RGB LED behind the glass cover. The multi-award-winning Gira Interface in a uniform design has an intuitive structure that makes all the functions easily accessible. It clearly displays all building technology. This enables the central control of a wide range of areas such as lights, blinds, ventilation, heating and household appliances. In addition, it is possible to save and call up light scenes, listen to music, use Internet applications, show e-mails, display the energy consumption in the household in the form of clear graphs, and read alarm messages.

Connection to the Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer

In connection with the Gira servers, the Gira Control 19 Client allows its numerous functions to be operated. The Gira HomeServer is the on-board computer for the house. As the interface between the modern electrical installation and the computer network, it controls all the components of home technology which are networked via the KNX system and enables the integration of a wide range of additional technologies. In this way, it enables operation of the KNX functions using state-of-the-art communication media. The Gira FacilityServer offers the complete functional range of the Gira HomeServer and is equipped with considerably more memory for its use in the commercial sector. This ensures that considerably larger amounts of data can be saved and more complex extensive visualisations created. In addition, it is possible to network several Gira FacilityServer units, so that buildings that are separated from each other can be linked to each other without problems. This allows local and higher-level applications to be coordinated with ease via the Gira Control 19 Client.

Remote control via the Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer

Together with the Gira servers, the Gira Control 19 Client can also be controlled remotely. In this way, it can be set to energy-saving Standby mode in case of absence and "reawakened" upon return. The screen saver can also be controlled, and external programs such as web browsers can also be started and exited.

Integration in the Gira door communication

The Gira Control 19 Client is equipped with a loudspeaker, microphone, and colour camera. Thanks to these features, in combination with the Gira DCS-IP-gateway it can also be integrated in the door communication. The door communication is simply integrated into the Gira interface via a plug-in for the Gira HomeServer or Gira FacilityServer. See who's at the door, accept the conversation, and open the door – the Gira Control 19 Client enables extremely convenient door communication with broad functionality. Thus the Gira Keyless In components Fingerprint, Transponder, and Keypad can be integrated and all kinds of intelligent links can be created. For example, opening the front door can be coupled with switching on the lights or heating. Functions such as creating user groups, distributing rights, or personalising ringing tones open up numerous possibilities for individualisation. In addition it is also possible to use the Gira Control 19 Client as a pure home station without the HomeServer/FacilityServer with the aid of special software, the DCS Communicator.

Installation

The Gira Control 19 Client is installed into the wall in a flush-mounted box. It is equipped with a long-range power supply unit (110-230 V) and can also be installed in existing Gira/Pro-face ServerClient 15 flush-mounted boxes via the supplementary 24 V DC input so that older systems can be upgraded to the latest state of technology. This makes an additional power supply unit in the flush-mounted box or in the distributor unnecessary. The touch screen of the Control 19 Client should be calibrated so that the cursor can optimally follow finger movements. The calibration program is found as an icon on the desktop. Calibration may only be performed on a mounted design frame.
