Gira Control 19 Client 2

The convenient, characteristic interface to building technology with new hardware

The Gira Control 19 Client 2 – a touch screen PC for controlling the KNX installation via the Gira HomeServer or FacilityServer – has been given a complete hardware overhaul. Thanks to technical progress in the field of computers, components that perform their tasks reliably and energy-efficiently are now available for the display, motherboard, and even the power supply unit. The maximum energy requirement has been reduced from 39W to 24W, and in standby mode from just 5W to an incredible 1.1W. Less power loss also means less waste heat, and therefore an increased service life. The Gira Control 19 Client 2 is operated using a large, brilliant display with a screen diagonal of 47 cm (18.5"), which clearly and concisely illustrates many of the building technology functions via the Gira Interface.

Convenient operation of the entire building technology

The Gira Control 19 Client 2 enables the visualisation and operation of all functions in the building system technology. Its brilliant display with a screen diagonal of 47 cm [18.5"] is easy to read from all directions, so that both adults and children can see the display equally well and operate the functions accordingly. The capacitive touch screen ensures simple operation with a pleasant feel. A variety of information such as incoming emails, adverse weather warnings and much more is displayed via a multicoloured parametrisable RGB LED behind the glass cover. The multi-award-winning Gira Interface has a uniform design and intuitive structure that makes all the functions easily accessible. It displays the entire building technology clearly and concisely. As a result, a wide range of areas such as lighting, blinds, ventilation, heating and household appliances can be operated centrally. In addition, users can save and call up light scenes, listen to music, use internet applications, display emails, show household energy consumption in the form of clear graphs, and read alarm messages.

Connection to the Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer

The Gira Control 19 Client 2's many functions can be operated in connection with the Gira servers. The Gira HomeServer is the on-board computer for the home. As the interface between the modern electrical installation and the computer network, it controls all the building technology components that are networked via the KNX system and enables the integration of numerous other technologies. It thus enables the KNX functions to be operated using state-of-the-art communication media. The Gira FacilityServer offers the complete functional range of the Gira HomeServer and is equipped with considerably more memory for its use in the commercial sector. This ensures that considerably larger amounts of data can be saved and more complex, extensive visualisations created. In addition, several Gira FacilityServer units can be networked, so that buildings that are spatially separated from each other can be interconnected without problems. This allows local and higher-level applications to be coordinated with ease via the Gira Control 19 Client 2.

Remote control via the Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer

Together with the Gira servers, the Gira Control 19 Client 2 can also be controlled remotely. It can be set to the energy-saving Standby mode when the home's occupants are absent and 'reawakened' upon their return. Even the screen saver can be controlled, and external programs such as web browsers can also be started and exited.

Integration into Gira door communication

The Gira Control 19 Client 2 is equipped with a speaker, microphone and colour camera. Thanks to these features, it can also be integrated into the door communication when combined with the Gira DCS IP gateway . The door communication can be easily integrated into the Gira Interface via a plug-in for the Gira HomeServer or Gira FacilityServer. See who's at the door, accept the call, and open the door – the Gira Control 19 Client enables extremely convenient door communication with broad functionality. The Gira Keyless In components Fingerprint, Transponder and Keypad can be integrated and all kinds of intelligent links can be created – for example opening the front door can be coupled with switching on the lights or heating. Functions such as creating user groups, distributing rights, or personalising ringtones open up a wide range of possibilities for customisation. In addition and with the aid of special software – the DCS Communicator – the Gira Control 19 Client can also be used as an outright home station without the HomeServer/FacilityServer .
