The Gira KNX CO₂ sensor reliably monitors the temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide concentration in buildings, and controls measures for maintaining the room climate within the KNX system. In schoolrooms, conference rooms, and meeting rooms: wherever there are a lot of people, the CO₂ concentration builds up quickly. Wellbeing, the ability to concentrate, and performance are already inhibited at a concentration of 0.08%. The maximum value of 0.1%, as recommended by DIN 1946, is often exceeded under current building standards and due to the high density of building shells.
It therefore makes sense to automatically monitor air quality. That job is taken on by the Gira KNX CO₂ sensor. In addition to its CO₂ sensor, the device is also equipped with a humidity and room temperature controller. As a result, when certain limits are exceeded, it ensures that windows are opened, fans are switched on, and the heating or air conditioning is regulated for example. The KNX CO₂ sensor is also suitable for use in the home, e.g. to prevent possible growth of mould in conservatories. What’s more: it is the first product of its kind that can be installed flush-mounted, in keeping with the rest of the electrical installation in the design line.
