Gira relay module for Gira Dual Q smoke alarm device

Connection of external alarm devices

The Gira Dual Q smoke alarm device can be equipped with a Gira relay module available as an optional extra, which enables the Dual Q smoke alarm device to be connected to external alarm devices, such as a horn or a warning light. The relay module is backward compatible and can therefore be used for Gira Dual/VdS smoke alarm devices too.

In addition, alarm and fault messages, switched to a TeleCoppler or alarm control unit, for example, can be switched or forwarded to the KNX system via a button interface.

Greater safety for everyone

For people with physical disabilities, such as sight or hearing difficulties, it is especially important that warning messages can be perceived safely in all cases. In order to provide additional acoustic and optical clarity, external alarm devices such as hooters or warning lights can be connected to the Gira Dual Q smoke alarm device via the Gira relay module. Additional safety can be ensured by forwarding alarm and fault messages to an alarm control unit, for example, which can then take appropriate measures immediately. These are fundamentally important functionalities, especially in the context of ambient assisted living and barrier-free and assisted living.

Installation

The Gira relay module is simply plugged into the interface on the Dual Q smoke alarm device. The networking terminals of the smoke alarm device can continue to be used when the module is attached.
